Theme: To create an awareness series based on social issues of the society which in our perspective need attention as they add on to poignant and negative aspects of our society:
Child labor:
The term “child labor” is often defined as work that deprives children of their childhood, their potential, and their dignity, and that is harmful to physical and mental development. It refers to work that:
- is mentally, physically, socially or morally dangerous and harmful to children; and/or
- interferes with their schooling by depriving them of the opportunity to attend school; obliging them to leave school prematurely; or requiring them to attempt to combine school attendance with excessively long and heavy work.
Consumption of drugs:
Drug use is, directly and indirectly, responsible for 11.8 million deaths each year. Smoking, alcohol, and drug use is an important risk factor for early death: 11.4 million dies prematurely, as a result, each year. Over 350,000 die from overdoses (alcohol and illicit drug use disorders) each year.
Teen Suicides:
Youth suicide is when a young person, generally categorized as someone below the legal age of majority, deliberately ends their own life. Rates of attempted and completed youth suicide in Western societies and other countries are high.
Objective: The main agenda will be to highlight these problems, create awareness among the youth towards them. Our aim will be of creating a long-lasting impact on the audience and to spread a positive message from our platform.
Spreading awareness of these types of issues has been very important in the past couple of years. You might already know about child labor if that child would have gone to school and would have learned something well instead of doing a low paying job.
The second issue is very common these days. You might notice and see that the consumption of drugs is rising with time. Small under 18 children. have started taking them for fun, causing different diseases and wasting of money. If they would have saved that money and would have invested the money in their health it would have been great.
Teen suicide is growing more and more in Pakistan. The teens are distressed about their career, social issue, and competition. Some might not prefer the hardships so they prefer something else that's unacceptable.
